Of course, all religions have their “trickster” god. Norse mythology had Loki, originator of deceits, who once got pregnant with an eight-legged horse. Native Americans have Coyote, who, legend has it, took up a handful of mud and out of it made people. And Christianity has Jesus, who pretended to be dead for three days to see which of his friends really liked him. Unlike Loki and Coyote, there is no record of Jesus stealing fire from his dad to give to humankind, so he’s not much use.
